Beyond Zero: New 2023 Toyota bZ4X
January 18 2022 - west
Long a leader in hybrid vehicles, Toyota is now leading the way to a carbon-neutral automotive future. Developing cars that emit little to no emissions is just one step toward sustainability. Improvements must also be made at every stage of production, from using green energy like solar power to recycling water and sourcing materials from cruelty-free and sustainable sources. Toyota will invest $70 billion in electrifying the entire new Toyota/Lexus lineup and $35 billion to develop battery electric vehicles (BEV) through 2030, to produce 30 BEV Toyota and Lexus vehicles in all segments globally. That mission starts with the release of Toyota’s first dedicated all-electric vehicle, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X. Toyota Challenge 2050 Cars Image

Challenge 2050

The Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 lists six challenges to create positive impacts for our planet. Launched in 2015, Challenge 2050 encourages all Toyota subsidiaries to innovate and find ways to reduce or eliminate CO2 emissions, conserve water, recycle more, restore lost habitats, and protect the environment and its diversity of species. Learn more about Challenge 2050. Since the launch of the Toyota Prius, the first mass-produced hybrid vehicle, over 20 years ago, Toyota has pioneered the switch to more sustainable automobiles. With Toyota’s new strategy to achieve carbon neutrality, expect to see more hybrid and electric Toyotas along with improvements to the overall production process for Toyota and Lexus branded vehicles.
