The GR in the 2022 Toyota GR 86 comes from its new Gazoo Racing designation. The improved handling, upgraded power, enhanced aerodynamics and of-the-moment technology got the new Toyota GR 86 the Gazoo Racing badge and earned resounding approval from the professional racing team. Thanks to the new 2.4-L FA24 flat-four boxer engine, the 2022 GR 86 now gets a massive 228 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, up from the previous 205-hp and 156 lb-ft of torque in the previous generation Toyota 86. Choose from a 6-speed automatic transmission with Dynamic Rev Management or a 6-speed close-ratio manual for total control.
Toyota increased rigidity in the new GR 86 with new reinforcements to the frame, and its low engine placement in the chassis and aerodynamic design gives the new Toyota GR 86 an athletic look and improved performance. Go from 0-60 in just 6.1 seconds!
The new Toyota GR 86 is available in two grades; GR 86 and GR 86 Premium. New for 2022 are improved bucket seats and side bolsters to support you and your passenger no matter how tight your cornering. Now standard is an 8-inch touchscreen with improved infotainment and a 6-speaker audio system. 2+2 seating lets you fold down the rear seats to make room for track tires or your gear.
The GR 86 Premium gets Alcantara upholstery with leather trim and accents, heated seats, a duckbill spoiler, aluminum pedals, 18-inch wheels and an 8-speaker premium audio system. Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and the latest advanced Toyota safety features, including a Pre-Collision System with Rear Automatic Braking, Auto High Beams, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert with Sway warning (on automatic models). The automatic GR 86 also gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter.
